Ryan Rawlings is Brilliant
Author: Jack
I feel relatively better than I have in a long while, but I'm still a bit tired and emotionally cloudy. But hey, if I'm feeling good, that's what matters, right?
My mom's setting up a blog... Well, actually I'm setting up the blog so she can have it to work from. And, though it adds something else to my list of things to do, I'm really excited. I can't show her how to do everything, because that'd mean I'd spend hours doing something I could do in several minutes, but I'm still really excited to work this out, and make it awesome! I love my blog, and am determined to become more active with it. Which is why I sat down to write, today. I'm not used to sitting down and writing when I'm not in a bad mood, so this could be really, really good. :D -- Lol! It's kinda funny, cause when I went into the Apple Store in Salt Lake on Saturday, I felt pretty stupid, cause I mean, well, I was talking to Mac Geniuses!! And here I was asking a very simple question, which they answered in two sentences. Oh well. But then here I am with my mom, and I feel like an internet genius. :D Boosts my self-esteem, surely.
Ryan Rawlings is great to talk to. I haven't spoken with him in a long time (off g-talk, anyway), and he's really become politically mature. I mean, he generally knows what he's talking about when he talks politics, which is GREAT! I HATE talking with people who don't know what they're talking about, but have a set opinion. GRRAR! Personally, I like Obama, for president, but Clinton's good, but I don't know much about McCain, though I think my dad's right when he says he'll be more fiscally conservative, and I just know I DON'T want Huckabee, that BIGOT!!! Ryan Rawling is very liberal, and usually pretty set in his ideas, which is fine with me cause I am fairly liberal compared to many people in Utah Valley (for instance: though I'm fairly "pro-life", I am totally against the death penalty except in instances where we CAN NOT contain the criminal) I like Obama and Clinton, and they are VERY alike in their stances on positions, except for how to solve Iraq, but I agree with Obama's view on Iraq, and he creates a sense of hope, which I desperately want as a citizen. I hate the gloomy idea. I also have to say, I lose several notches of respect of Hillary personally everytime she knocks on George Bush. Even though I don't think George's done a great job, (ps: i recommend the book Clueless George Goes To War) I hate it when politicians bash other politicians. It's like when I go to Republican caucuses/party parties/etc and it's all Billary bashing (I HATE THEM, THEY CAN DIE AND GO TO OUTER DARKNESS!!!! for bashing on Hillary's tear) and Democrat bashing, and I want to stand up and scream, "This isn't about the Democrats!! We're not anti-Democrats! We should be pro-American, working with the Democrats to get the best for America!!" (ps: i went to a republican thing a month or so ago and this guy on my left was like "Hillary (as first-lady) was supposed to just sit there and look pretty." WHAT THE SEXIST PIG!? Oh yeah, Eleanore Roosevelt had nothing to do with the bettering of our country. Abigail Adams? Who was she? Oh no, First Ladies are supposed to "sit there and look pretty"
Okay, so I'm getting pretty angry, and I need to step back. Let's talk about something I found VERY interesting.
In my history textbook last year, they talked about the Cuban Missle Crisis. And in it, they praised JFK heavily for not listening to his advisors when they advised he pursue a preemptive strike. He was "patient", and didn't do something without knowing what was up, the textbook pretty much said. But something struck me. Cuba could very well have done something different. What if they had sent a missile our way? Well, then in that textbook (if we had a textbook and were alive) it would have GREATLY persecuted JFK for the horrible decision he had made. But that's just the thing. It was Cuba's decision not to do that, not JFK's. It had little to do with him, so it's a wonder that he's praised so greatly in that textbook. I was talking to Ryan Rawlings about it, and he pointed out the similarities with America's initial raid of Iraq. Had there been, somehow, WMDs in Iraq/Afghanistan, or a connection between Iraq & Al Qaeda, then George W. Bush would be brilliant!! A friggin' hero!! But because somebody was wrong (or lied) he's a friggin' idiot!! ('though, i don't agree with how he handled the situation following the initial military entering of a country we didn't own)
Okay, so that's all I have to say for now. For those of you who got through this post, I would love to hear what you say. As long as you have constructive evidence to back up your opinion, you're welcome to beat and bash my opinion to shambles!
